The 555 Kelly Avenue Affordable Housing Project in Half Moon Bay was proposed in 2022 to provide 40 homes for retired farmworkers, along with a resource center operated by Ayudando Latinos a Soñar (ALAS). Years later, the project still has not broken ground due to ongoing appeals, delays, and extensions while housing costs continue to rise and farmworkers remain without stable options.

This project will not solve the entire housing crisis, but it is a necessary step toward providing farmworkers with the basic dignity of safe, reliable housing. It is also the reason Harvesting Justice was founded, and why we continue to advocate for its approval.

We have seen similar projects succeed. Now, we need community support to ensure this one moves forward.
